What would you lose if you had to leave your home because it was no longer safe? The common answer is almost everything.
Many of the women who go to the YWCA, and other shelters in Saskatoon, for help arrive with nothing more than the clothing on their back.
Bundle of Blessings creates bundles filled with personal hygiene products, non-perishable food items, and clothing, to give to shelters and other organizations in our city who distribute to women and their children.
Unfortunately, the YWCA alone is forced to turn away more women than they can take in due to a lack of space. Last year, they turned away over 3,000 people. Often, the bundles we create are given to these women and children.
These are women and children in a life crisis in our community who need your help. Find out what you can do to make a difference.
CEO & founder
The idea for Bundle of Blessings began when Rachael received a bag of hand-me-down clothing during her first semester in grade 12. She took what she wanted, and planned to give the rest to Value Village, but wondered if there might be other people who needed it more. When she attended a women’s entrepreneurship leadership program that fall, the idea took root and she gained friends, family and corporate supporters.
She made her first delivery to the YWCA in December 2016, and her second in January 2017. After that, she took a break from Bundle of Blessings to focus on school.
The third delivery was made in September 2017, and since then Bundle of Blessings has continued making monthly deliveries. She hopes to grow Bundle of Blessings to other shelters and help fill more of the needs of the women and children in crisis in Saskatoon, and she needs your help to do it. Find out how you can help.
